CBSE launches 'Udaan Scheme' to boost enrollment of girl students in IITs, NITs

New Delhi: To boost enrollment of girls in the country’s premier engineering institutes likeIITs and NITs, CBSE has launched the Udaan Scheme in order to provide free online coaching and monetary incentives.

CBSE has urged parents and schools to make the optimum use of the scheme.

1/ Udaan is a special initiative introduced by CBSE to promote awareness about engineering institutions and groom girl students to successfully secure berth in premier engineering institutes such as IITs and NITs.2/ Under the aegis of Udaan, CBSE will provide online coaching facilities and zonal-level training under the guidance of experts from IITs.

3/ Coaching on mathematics and science will be provided to girl students from classes 9 to 12.

4/ It will also provide scholarships to 1,000 disadvantaged girls annually.

5/ The main objective is to increase enrollment ratio of girls in the premier engineering institutes and instill leadership quality.

According to a India Today report, some 5,000 girl students in Kerala have already applied for Udaan scheme this year.
